Database Permissioner is a free plugin for ConnectWise Automate that allows partners to set permissions on custom tables.

The plugin uses the native permission structure in Automate, and permissions can be assigned based on userclass assignment or userid. The plugin works by creating a mapping of tables, users/groups, and MySQL permissions, and then passing them to the application when the database agent initializes.

The plugin has the following features:

  • UI for additional/removal of permissions for custom tables
  • Logging of assigned permissions for troubleshooting
  • Auditing of plugin usage for compliance
  • Augmenting permissions on default tables

We have created an automation using custom tables in the Automate Database. This plugin allows us to easily give permissions for these tables to our BrightGauge user so that we can monitor it effectively! It has worked great for us, thanks for the great plugin!

Since Automate desided to lock it’s tables for security purposes, I was not able to user my custom made tables anymore.

A script would do it to assign permissions but this plugin will do it for me. Great work!
